Information letter: UPDATE current financial situation |

Dear Member Organisations,
About a month ago we informed you about the financial situation of the Federation of Young European Greens. In the mean time we undertook several actions that we wish to inform you about by means of this letter.
In close communication with the European Green Party and the Green Group in the European Parliament we drafted a plan to address the situation.
- As soon as we had the necessary information, we communicated this to all political and financial partners. We explained to them the situation as well as which steps we were undertaking.
- We hired an external accountant who verified the movements suspected of fraud. Now, the accountancy for 2008, 2009 and 2010 have been done and are currently checked by our external accountant.
- The provisional Financial Statements have been finalised. They are currently being checked by the professional external accountant
- On the GA 2010 section of the website you will find the drafted amendments to the Internal Rules of Procedure, changing the financial procedures of the FYEG. These are to be adopted at the GA.
- Also, we have hired a lawyer and filed a complaint with the Belgium Police and Court. The first step, which has already started, is the investigation by the judge of all elements proving the fraud. As we cannot know the length of this investigation which will be followed by a trial, this legal process will be a long term process.
We hope to have informed you sufficiently for now. We will further explain the situation, together with all the relevant documents, at the General Assembly upcoming May from 12th till 16th in Bratislava.
