CALL FOR MEMBERS OF FYEG Working Group on REGIONALISM PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 10 June 2010
The FYEG General Assembly adopted a policy paper called "More regionalism, more Europe!" in Maastricht 2009. The policy paper was processed again in the General Assembly in Bratislava 2010 where it was decided that the Working Group on Regionalism should be revived.

Europe consists, not only of nations, but of culturally, naturally and historically defined regions that exceed state borders. This raises a question on how to take into account the needs of local and regional view points in the European integration process. The Working Group on Regionalism will deal with questions concerning democracy, self-determination, subsidiarity, identity, federalism etc.

To join the WG or obtain more information, please send an email to erkki [at] fyeg.org not later than 4 July 2010 explaining your motivation  and including a recommendation letter from the National board of your  organization.

Erkki Perälä (erkki [at] fyeg.org)

What are *working groups*?

Working groups are FYEG think tanks according to FYEGs Internal Rules of Procedure. They gather groups of FYEG members who would like to work on a particular topic: gather knowledge, examine cases and lobby for solutions. WGs will be given a mailing list to discuss their topic. Working groups can also be used to prepare activities for FYEG to carry out and for mutual training and the advancement of knowledge.
