FYEG, the Federation of Young European Greens, is a political youth organisation that aims to bring together young green activists from all over Europe to encourage both mutual understanding and mutual action to bring social, economical and ecological change in Europe. We are a young and very internationally orientated organisation and work with/in countries all over Europe.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated intern for this Autumn/Winter 2010. The position is full time, but the working hours are flexible and you can therefore fix it according to your studies/other interests. We always discuss thoroughly with our interns how they and we can get the most out of their time within FYEG. Your personal or educational needs and wishes are the basis of our co-operation. We especially encourage women, people with migration background and people with disabilities to apply.

This full-time internship is for a period of 5 months, starting from the 1st of September and ending preferably the 25th of February 2011, in the headquarters of FYEG in Brussels.

The intern will receive a monthly allowance of more or less 900EUR/month. Although we would like to pay our interns more, our limited structural resources do not allow for better compensation yet.

Job Content:
  • Helping with the preparations of activities which will take place as part of the campaign for the COP 16.
  • Content and organisational support to the Climate Working Group of FYEG who will run the campaign for the COP16
  • Ensure coordination of various partner organisations for the COP16 campaign.
  • Update and analysis of political development in Central and Eastern EU countries, including Green parties.

Candidate profile:
  • A good knowledge of the English language (written and oral) is necessary.
  • Knowledge of the UNFCCC process and issues which will be part of the negotiations in Cancun. General knowledge on political science and strong interest in Political Ecology.
  • Experience with running online campaign and decentralised actions.
  • Younger than 30 years old preferably.
  • Originally from a Central or Eastern EU country preferably.
  • Good writing and computer skills.
  • Able to work independently, showing initiative and be able to work under high pressure.
