Call for Member Organisations - Young Greens Decentralised Trainings 2023

FYEG is announcing a call for Member Organisations (MOs) to participate in the Young Greens Decentralised Trainings 2023. This activity is a capacity-building opportunity for all the MOs (full and candidate) of the Federation. The selected MOs will receive tailored trainings on organisational strategy (identification of the organisation’s mission and vision, and methodologies to build change), sustainable growth and recruitment (intersectional and inclusive approaches to recruitment and volunteer engagement pathways), and teamwork (task division, learning and exchanging structures). This programme is a hybrid activity, and the different sessions take place from late September to November.

The programme brings the opportunity to learn, exchange, and work towards boosting resilience in FYEG’s MO structures, securing the engagement and development of their members within their bodies and spaces, and creating diverse and welcoming activities. This programme is especially addressed to MOs that:

  • Experienced recent changes in their structures due to internal or external factors;

  • Want to put in place strategies to recruit new members and/or work on engagement pathways to ensure the participation of their members;

  • Want to analyse the internal functioning of their organisation, in order to boost good practices and implementing better processes if needed;

  • Aspire to increase their impact and ability to collaborate with other key stakeholders in their ecosystems, including their Mother Party, youth councils and movements, and local and national institutions.

This activity is the second edition of this learning programme, which took place during the second half of 2022. In this occasion, FYEG wants to especially bring this opportunity to its MOs based in non-EU member states in the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

This learning programme is a long-term activity that consists on the following compulsory phases:

  • One-to-one interviews. Each selected MO will have an online meeting with the trainers around one month before the live kick-off event. At least the participants to the live kick-off should be present in this meeting. One or two extra participants (from the secretariat or board of the organisation) are also encouraged to join.

  • Live kick-off event, organised in collaboration with the European Green Party, between the 29th of September and 1st of October (arrivals on the 28th of September, departures starting on the 1st til the 2nd of October).

  • 4 online workshops. It is mandatory for the participants of the live event to participate in the online workshops, and to brief eventual newcomers interested in joining the sessions. The workshops will last 3 hours (including breaks) and take place in the morning; the final time will be scheduled taking into account the time zones of residence of the participants. These are the dates of the online workshops:

    • 14th of October

    • 28th of October

    • 11th of November

    • 18th of November (closing)

  • Individual work within the MO: 3 to 5 hours between each online workshop (1.5 to 2.5 hours per week) in order to develop the newly acquired skills and share the learnings with the rest of the MO.

  • Evaluation.

All MOs applying will select a delegation of 3 people that commit to:

  • Attend the kick-off event taking place in Brussels from 29th of September to 1st of October (arrivals on the 28th of September, departures on the 1st-2nd of October).

  • Attend the subsequent online workshops during the dates listed above. It is compulsory that at least one of them attends each workshop.

  • Be representatives of the MO and guarantee that the knowledge acquired will be shared with the rest of the organisation. With that aim, at least one of the members of the delegation must be a member of the board, secretariat, or other decision-making or management body. The delegation must be gender balanced.

  • Nominate one of the members of the delegation as its leader. This person will be responsible for ensuring the attendance of the MO to all the stages of the programme.

  • Participate in the evaluation of the project.

Do you think your MO could benefit from this opportunity? Fill in the registration form by the 25th of June 23:59 CEST HERE. The MOs will have to provide the data of the members of the delegation. Before applying, your MO will need to select three young greens to be the delegates in accordance with the criteria above.

In accordance with the project budget and the scope of the activity, the FYEG Executive Committee will select up to seven MOs to take part in this programme. The selected MOs and the three appointed delegates will be contacted in July and will confirm their participation. The delegate will have to fill in a registration form that will be used to prepare the logistics of the live event.
