Call for Prep Team - The Green Rave and European Train Tour

The Federation of Young European Greens is excited to announce an open call for members of the international Preparatory and Coordination Team for 'The Green Rave' and the subsequent 'The European Train Tour.' The Green Rave is an international event scheduled to take place in Italy, either from 1-3 March 2024, or from 8-10 March 2024. The European Train Tour events will be held in various European countries, and we are seeking your support in coordinating four of them from March to May 2023.

The Green Rave, spanning three days, will bring together 70 young activists from across Europe. The primary objective of this event is to empower young individuals to mobilise others and influence the discourse surrounding the 2024 European elections. We intend to enhance the strategies of these young campaigners through the exchange of best practices and experiences, with the involvement of experienced politicians and experts.

The event will be divided into two parts: a one-day public community-building event launching The European Train Tour and two days dedicated to training using non-formal education methods.

The European Train Tour will consist of four decentralised one-day events coordinated by FYEG. These events will promote both passive and active political participation among young people in the European elections, thus fostering their interest in the EU as a whole. Our goal is to demonstrate the impact of EU politics on young people's lives through various mediums, including unconventional and entertaining formats such as active political debates, educational speed dating, and games.

Each member of the Preparatory Team will be responsible for facilitating activities at The Green Rave and coordinating activities during at least one of the stops of the European Train Tour.

We are currently looking for three individuals to join the international Preparatory Team and lead the preparation of the activities with the full support of FYEG’s Project Officer and a member of FYEG’s Executive Committee. Your responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Full participation in a live prep team meeting in Brussels, Belgium, either on 6-7 January or 13-14 January 2024 (two full working days over a weekend, arriving on Friday and leaving on Monday).

  • Active participation in weekly online meetings, research, and workshop design prior to the events (approximately 3-4 hours per week, starting at the end of January, with workload varying depending on assigned tasks).

  • Complete preparation and implementation of the program and program materials.

  • Invitation and communication with guests in alignment with the project's goals.

  • Participant selection and pre-event communication.

  • Management of practical logistics and the general well-being of participants.

  • Full participation during the entire event (The Green Rave) and the Preparatory Team meetings one day before and after the event.

  • Full participation in one or more stops of the European Train Tour.

  • Responsibility for project results (until one month after the activity).

Being a member of FYEG’s Preparatory Team offers you:

  • The opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment with young activists and professionals.

  • Gaining professional experience based on your goals and preferences.

  • The chance to improve your organisational, communication, and training skills.

  • Experience in non-formal education methods and facilitation skills.

  • Familiarity with Green values and FYEG’s work, an international youth organisation.

  • Knowledge about European elections, youth participation, and campaigning.

  • An unforgettable experience!

Practical Information:

Accommodation, food, workspace, travel, and visa costs for the Preparatory Team will be fully covered within reasonable limits and within Europe. For selecting travel means, the condition is to choose the most economical and environmentally friendly option (considering price, travel time, and CO2 emissions).

If you are a team player interested in developing your trainer skills and are willing to be part of an adventure that could shape Europe during the 2024 elections, this project is for you!

The deadline is 29 October at 23:59 CEST.

These events are activities organised as a part of the “Your Future Starts Today” project supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe.

The project is supported by the Greens–European Free Alliance in the European Parliament.
