Call for participants - AlterCOP26 (Closed)

The Federation of Young European Greens launches a call for participants who wish to travel to Glasgow and attend seminars and mobilisations around COP26 from the 3rd to the 8th of November. This activity is possible thanks to the collaboration of the European Green Party, and aims to educate and mobilise young activists in parallel to the UNFCCC taking place in Glasgow during the first half of November.

The participants will attend workshops and seminars with other activists and members of the Green Family. We will have the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with members of the Green Group in the EP, the European Greens, and more inspiring activists and change-makers thanks to the program developed by FYEG! The program includes joining the mobilisations organised by the local social movements and civil society. This is a great opportunity for team-building and getting together after the long online-activism we had during the last years!

The participants are expected to arrive latest on Wednesday 3rd of November in the evening and leave earliest on Sunday 7th of November in the evening (participants are encouraged to leave on Monday). Due to the current situation regarding public health and travel measures, we regret to inform that we will only accept participants who are FULLY VACCINATED or will be fully vaccinated by the 3rd of November. Remember that you are considered to be fully vaccinated: 2 weeks after getting the second dose in a 2-dose series, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine.

Apply now if you:

  • Are interested in learning more about the climate movement, and what the COP is all about

  • Are interested in participating in climate discussions, activism, and actions

  • Strongly feel the need to educate, organise and mobilise for climate justice and real climate action and ambition

  • Look forward to sharing all the things you’ll learn with your colleagues back home

  • Want to join your forces with other like-minded young green activists

  • Want to change the system, not the climate!

  • The programme will start on Thursday in the early morning

  • Accommodation will be provided for 5 nights (from Wednesday 3rd to Monday 8th) as well as the corresponding meals and refreshments

  • Travel costs will be fully reimbursed (within reasonable limits, with the condition to combine the most economic and environmentally friendly way - lowest price, travel time, CO2 emissions)

  • In order to enter the UK you need a valid passport. Use the following link to check if you also need a visa: https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa . In case you need a Visa, FYEG will provide support and the correspondent expenses will be reimbursed.
