Call for Projects Coordinator (CLOSED)

The European Green Party (EGP) is opening a vacancy for a position as Joint EGP/FYEG junior Projects Coordinator starting from mid-April 2021 at its Brussels office.

The European Green Party brings together political parties that share common Green values and are active across the entire European continent. What is FYEG or the Federation of Young European Greens?

FYEG is an international NGO registered and operating under Belgian law. It is a dynamic youth organisation that unites Green youth movements, young Green activists and Green political organisations from all over Europe. FYEG organises youth projects, summer camps, international trainings, conferences, campaigns, direct actions and serves as a youth lobbying organisation and a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among European Green. Role description

The Projects Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing EGP and FYEG's joint activities. This means taking ownership of EGP’s and FYEG’s projects throughout each stage of their development:

  1. Creating and submitting project ideas and proposals;
  2. Budgeting and financial management;
  3. Coordinating between EGP and FYEG, plus other stakeholders and volunteers;
  4. Coordinating and managing the content of the event, communications and logistics;
  5. Evaluation and reporting on the projects and their outputs.

This is a junior position requiring organisation and time management skills, responsibility, ability to coordinate with different requests and strategies from various stakeholders, ability to take some initiative. It is also an exciting opportunity to liaise between EGP and FYEG to support the green wave in Europe. The Projects Coordinator reports to the Secretary General of the EGP and of the FYEG.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implementation, evaluation and reporting of the EGP/FYEG joint activities, in line with the EGP’s strategies and activity plans
  • End-to-end project management, from planning to reporting
  • Management of project related communications and campaigns
  • Daily project administration and financial management
  • Coordinating between EGP and FYEG
  • Coordinating with stakeholders (partners, speakers, participants, service provider, etc.)
  • Support EGP and FYEG in the development and implementation of further cooperation
  • Support EGP and FYEG with ad-hoc tasks, especially during online or live events

Requirements:

  • Experience in project management;
  • Experience in event management and logistics;
  • Experience in communications and campaigns;
  • Organisational and time management skills;
  • People skills and the ability to work in multi-cultural teams and environments;
  • Teamwork and personal communication skills;
  • Computer skills and digital literacy;
  • Proficiency in English language (written and spoken); 
  • Flexibility to travel and occasionally work during evenings or weekends

Additional assets:

  • Knowledge of other languages;
  • Previous involvement in a local or international youth organisation;
  • Good understanding of Green values such as ecology, feminism, anti-racism and social justice;
  • Experience of working in the non-governmental sector;
  • Knowledge and experience of non-formal education methodologies

What do we offer?

  • 10 month full-time employee contract (38 hours/week), renewable;
  • Around 24300 EUR of annual gross salary, plus additional benefits such as meal-cheques and transport contribution;
  • Flexible working hours, with possibility for regular telework

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Belgium has put regulations in place regarding teleworking. It is therefore highly possible that, depending on how the situation evolves, part of the contract will have to be performed remotely through teleworking, at least part-time. The selected candidate will nonetheless be required to be based in Belgium from the start of the contract (exact date negotiable).
