By visiting Latvia, the tour aims to engage with young Latvians, raising awareness about the importance of participating in the EU elections and empowering them to voice their concerns and aspirations within the EU framework. If you’re in or near Riga, register below.

11:30 - 12:30: Paneļdiskusija: Mākslas, aktīvisma, zinātnes mijiedarbība klimatrīcībai un vides aizsardzībai/Panel discussion: the interaction between art, activism, and science for climate action and environmental protection/
Paneļdiskusijā apskatīsim klimata un vides krīzi no daudz plašākas perspektīvas kā parasti. Ar 3 ļoti interesantiem panelistiem uzzināsi vairāk par klimata un vides krīzi no likumu, jauniešu aktīvisma un mākslas puses gan Eiropas Savienībā, gan Latvijā. Kā gaidāmās vēlēšanas un to rezultāti ietekmēs diskursu par šo tēmu?
In this interactive discussion, we will look at the climate and environmental crisis from a much broader perspective than usual. With 3 very interesting and diverse panelists, you will find out more about climate and environmental crisis from law, youth activism, and art perspectives in Latvia and the EU. How will the upcoming elections and its results influence the discourse on this topic? Share your thoughts on the power of your vote for climate action.

A) Viens zīmējums ir vērts tūkstoš vārdu: praktiska darbnīca par mākslas lomu aktīvismā/Artivism - Workshop on the role of art in activism
Šajā praktiskajā darbnīcā jums būs iespēja būt radošam un uzzināt vairāk par mākslas lomu aktīvismā un politikā pirms ES vēlēšanām. Kā ar mākslas palīdzību veicināt izpratni par balsošanu?/In this practical workshop, you will have the opportunity to be creative and learn more about the role of art in activism and politics ahead of the EU elections. How can you raise awareness about voting through art?
B) Workshop on migration/Iekāp cita kurpēs: darbnīca par migrāciju (angliski)
This workshop will be led by the board members of FYEG and it will be held entirely in English. You will look at different issues and struggles related to migration in the EU in an engaging and interactive way. Do you feel that this topic has enough presence in the election discussions? What can you do to bring it forward to influence the politics of the EU?

Dalībnieki straujā tempā izdiskutēs dažādas ar ES saistītas problēmas un dalīsies savā viedoklī. Kādēļ tik maz cilvēku aizgāja nobalsot iepriekšējās EP vēlēšanās? Kā mēs to varam mainīt? Tie ir tikai daži no jautājumiem, ko mēs apskatīsim. Šīs ir tikai dažas no tēmām, kuras mēs apspriedīsim. Šīs sesijas beigās jūs pierakstīsit ierosinājumus FYEG Eiropas Parlamentam, lai izkļūtu vēlēšanu kampaņā!/The participants will quickly discuss many topics related to the EU and exchange their views to different other participants. Why do so few people vote in the European Parliament elections? How can we change that? These are just a few of the topics we will discuss. At the end of this session, you will write down suggestions for the FYEG European Parliament get-out-the-vote election campaign!

Monta Heidemane ir vides un klimata aktīviste, darbojas vairākās Latvijas vides un dzīvnieku aizsardzības nevalstiskajās organizācijās. Mācās 12. klasē dabaszinātņu novirzienā. Aizraujas gan ar dabas pētniecību un aizsardzību, gan arī mākslu. Iesaistās dažādās vides un klimata kampaņās un akcijās.

Viviannas galvenais darbības lauks ir ilustrācijas, komiksu un animācijas jomās. Viņas komiksi ir publicēti žurnālos Kuš!, Stripburger, Kuti, Pikolo, Le Monde Diplomatique, kā arī viņa pašizdod zīnus. Pagājušajā pavasarī, sadarbībā ar Lauru Melni un Volūda, tika izdots pirmais komikss latgaliešu valodā, toties pusgadu vēlāk – komikss par zaļāku dzīvesveidu “Zaļais ceļojums” sadarbībā ar Ingrīdu Pičukāni, Rīgas Cirks un vairāku radošo laboratoriju dalībniekiem. Vivianna redz neizsmeļamu potenciālu komiksos kā stāstniecības formā, kura ļauj pastāstīt sarežģīto, sāpīgo, aktuālo un personīgo vienkāršāk saprotamā vizuālā valodā.
Vivianna is a freelancer based in Riga, taking on various projects in illustration, comics and animation. Her comics have appeared in Kuš!, Stripburger, Kuti, she also self-publishes zines. Last spring in collaboration with author Laura Melne they published the first comic book in latvian dialect latgalian. Half a year later, in collaboration with Ingrīda Pičukāne and Riga Circus creative lab youngsters, they created a comic on how to live a greener lifestyle. Vivianna sees a huge potential in comics as a way to tell difficult, intimate and painful stories in way that most of us can understand more easily through visuals.

Anja Presnukhina is a transnational & angry political organiser from Finland . She is a member of the Executive Committee of FYEG and a city councilmember from Finland.
With a background in minority politics, study of religions and local organising, Anja works towards a Union which would be less hypocritical, racist and would leave less people behind. At night, she dreams about dismantling all borders and brewing coffee.
Anja will be moderating the session on Migration & women rights together with Lone.

Lone Kristiansen grew up on a small island in Norway, feeling isolated from the rest of the European community. Being a part of the FYEG executive committee, learning, and seeing more of what European cooperation can do, she wants to make this something even more people get to experience. Lone is passionate about politics being something everyone should be able to participate in, making language, events and structure more accessible. In addition to working for youth to be more active in all levels of society.
